Showcasing the iconic movie home from the classic Christmas movie.

“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.”
As winter approaches, the leaves on the ground will be covered with snow and our windows will frost over. When this happens, it becomes harder and harder to find things to do outside our homes without freezing.
If you’re looking for an indoor excursion to get you in the holiday spirit, then I triple-dog-dare you to visit the house from the iconic 1983 film “A Christmas Story.”
Located on West 11th Street in Tremont, this cute abode has an abundance of memorabilia. Guided tours will give you the full Cleveland Christmas experience and make you feel as if you are Ralphie Parker himself.
When pulling up to the house, you will find three locations that were featured in the film. One, of course, is the iconic house itself.
First year Cleveland State University student Devon Adams said that touring the house reminded him of the magic of watching the film as a kid.
“I felt like I was seeing the film from a completely different lens,” Adams said. “The house takes you right back to childhood.”
Next door is the infamous “Bumpus house,” home of the Bumpuses, the enemies of Ralphie’s father in the film, where tourists are able to stay for the night. Across the street from the home, you’ll find a gift shop with so much Christmas spirit, even Kris Kringle would blush.
Last year, this historic landmark was in danger of shutting its doors and it was up in the air if new ownership would take over. Thankfully, it was bought by a veteran employee of the museum, Joshua Dickerson. Visitors from all around were worried about potential changes that a new owner might make to the house, but in an interview with WKYC, Dickerson assured all customers that the only changes would be maintenance related.
Tickets are available on the House from “A Christmas Story” house website for $20.
If you are looking to get in the Christmas spirit or just trying to find that nostalgic holiday feeling, then look no further than the house from “A Christmas Story.”
