Podcasts for Your Mental Health

In honor of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, here are just a few podcasts surrounding the topic of mental health that you should give a listen to!

The Savvy Psychologist’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Mental Health With a title as specific as that, it’s no surprise that this podcast is first up on the list! Host Dr. Ellen Hendriksen tackles both day-to-day problems as well as some more deeply-rooted issues. Dr. Hendricken does so by using her caring nature and lighthearted humor to make this podcast a favorite for learning more about how to take care of your mind, and yourself in general. Added bonus: her episodes all vary in length, from five minutes to forty-five minutes, making it super easy to choose which one to listen to based on your time and mood!

Kalyn’s Coffee Talk A podcast produced by lifestyle Youtuber Kalyn Nicholson, KCT is here to address all kinds of obstacles anyone may run into from time to time, such as growing your self-confidence or starting a new life chapter. While giving you some super helpful advice taken from her own experiences and lessons learned, Kalyn makes it feel as if she is right there with you on a coffee date, sippin’ on whatever she has that day (she even goes far enough to describe what she is drinking in each episode)! KCT episodes give you a sense of comfort and coziness that will surely bring your spirits up, all while helping you deal with whatever is going on.

Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations Oprah takes a different approach to talking about mental health; through her podcasts, she interviews some of the most prominent figures in the fields of spirituality, lifestyle, and mindfulness today. She not only interviews your typical “spiritual-gurus,” but wants to get a take from all kinds of people, from Thich Nhat Hanh (a famous Buddhist monk) about the importance of meditation, to Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight from The Office) asking him what he thinks the meaning of life is. In the end, her podcasts definitely serve and achieve their purpose: listening to them will really help you get into just the right mindset, shifting your perspective on a variety of issues and topics.
